My Exercise 14
One year has passed since I began to use my library card. Totally, I borrowed over 150 items that are quite many I think. Though it's still difficult to read, there must have given tremendous benefit for me.

The library noticed me that I liked a fantasy story. As I mentioned it before, "The Wizard of OZ" was one of my favorite stories. Luckily, I had a chance to borrow the DVD of it. The old movie, which was produced in 1939, provided me an exciting time. My husband also enjoyed seeing of it. Not only the story but also the cast was excellent.

Now, I am borrowing the DVD, "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", just because it seemed easy to understand. Unfortunately, it has British accent, but it is a story that I love, fantasy one! Oh, it's so nice! There's no way that a bed flies anywhere they want. However, this is the big point that I like it.

My interests shift to borrow DVD, and this library card is more useful.

My Exercise 13
Most Canadian people can understand what I say, however it doesn't mean that I speak English correctly. Usually, I say with grammatical incorrect; incomplete sentence, misplace preposition, odd tense. Today was not an exception. I went to CIBC and asked a bank manager about my account. What I wanted to ask was a minimum monthly balance. "How much should I have to keep…..uh, if I don't want to pay….commission fee?"

The bank manager understood my English and explained very clearly. He even showed me a brochure and circled the information that I needed.

Purely, I was ashamed of myself. If only I spoke English smartly.
After that, I took the brochure that he gave me and read it. "If you maintain a minimum monthly balance of $1500 on these accounts, we will waive your transaction fees." Maybe, I can customize it. "Could you tell me a minimum monthly balance of my account to avoid fees?"
I think this expression will be better. No, I don't know.

My Exercise 12
To be honest, I didn't expect to get grammatical skill from the book, "Communicate What You Mean". The reason is quite simple; just too much for me. This textbook is horribly thick, and moreover, there are tremendous exercises in there. Simply, I didn't like it. However, I know what I have to do, that is why I was doing these exercises reluctantly during this summer holiday.

Yes, this book made me feel bad! Every time, it had me make too many sentences. I could even hear its voice, "You must know because I told you!" Oh, it was awful.

In spite of such stresses, gradually I noticed that this book was the one that I needed. I need a drill. I have a lot of "I know, but I can't" and " I can, but I forgot" things. The lack of practice blocks my English improvement, I guess.

Anyway, I'd like to finish this book soon and do it again. I doubt myself, but if I successfully finish the book two or tree times, I will be more comfortable about my English.

My Exercise 11
July 1st is Canada Day. My husband and I went to the Government Center where free pancakes were served that day. The cerebration was held all day long, however free pancake time was in the morning. We woke up early, and went there by walk. I am not quite sure but it was around 8:30 in the morning when we arrived there.

Later on, I noticed something; there was something wrong. I looked around and found that there was no fat person there! I told my husband about my great theory. "A fat person couldn't wake up early in the morning, that leads to the fact that a person who doesn't wake up early becomes fat person!" First, my husband looked around silently, and he strongly agreed with me. "Oh, you are right, there are no obese people here! It is very weird that we can see only proper shaped people in such a place."

Conclusion, the first step to go on a diet is to be an early bird.

Hand−made Cards
Did I always try my best to study English? I have to admit there is more room for me to do it. It's still hard to convey my feelings especially, the feeling of gratitude.

At the end of Saturday's ESL class, I gave the hand-made cards to our teachers. I tried to say something when they took the cards, but I just said "thank you". During these three months of Saturday's class, my mind had been occupied by making cards. I was happy to arrange for the teacher's gifts including cards. They were surprised to see the cards and expressed me their gratitude. "You have a good talent!" "I really like this card, thank you so much!" Other students were also delighted and said " thank you for preparing", "I also like those cards". However, all I could reply was "your welcome", poor expression.

I've come to a better understanding about what I have to say, but imagination doesn't come to my tongue.
